The City Council is responsible for:
Making policy for the City of Atlanta
Making laws to run the city government
Ordinances: official acts of the City Council with the force and effect of law
Resolutions:express intent or support of various projects and enterprises or establish legislative policy of a general nature
Oversight of multiple agencies, boards, and commissions
Work to ensure safer and cleaner streets, bolster Atlanta’s economy, and institute many community-based programs.
Budget process and financial well being of Atlanta.
